Dog Extricated from Haymarket, VA, Explosion Debris after Six Days
Oct. 22, 2024
Six days after a house exploded in Haymarket, a dog was rescued from the rubble.
Prince William County firefighters were stunned when they got the call to return to the site Monday by someone who heard barking.
As crews removed piles of debris, they soon saw a face. It was Brandy, a brindle pitbull, WRC reported
With a little coaxing from her family, she emerged -- to the surprise of everyone.
“The explosion was six days ago. So, we were kind of shocked to hear that there was a dog possibly there still,” said Firefighter Gavin Morrison.
Lt. Mark Waldrop agreed: “Usually when we do make pet rescues and people rescues, it’s at the time of the incident. To go back six days later and get the dog out was a great feeling.”
